Henry Hundred Miler Club

The 100 Miler Club provides the opportunity to run or walk 100 miles in the morning before school, which improves readiness to learn, creates better education outcomes, builds self-esteem, and the overall health in the lives of children and others.

Starting in October, participants will go out to the playground at 8:!5 AM, set a goal for the year, stretch, and run. The miles and love for running begin to build almost instantly! At different mile markers, your child will receive a prize.

Last year, the top 2 students (1st graders) ran more than 200 miles by the end of the year!

The 100 Miler Club is run by parent volunteers and meets every day of the week (unless on rainy days) at 8:15 AM. Students run or walk at least a mile, working their way to 100 miles by the end of the year. Families are invited to run or walk with their child every week which is a great school community weekly activity. TK and Kindergartners are welcome to participate in this program with parent supervision.

Volunteers are needed to chair this program, lead stretching, and mark the miles that students run. Please contact PTA President, Katie Kolsky at Kskolsky@yahoo.com to volunteer.
